Welcome To Kevin Rodger!
MacIntyre Academies welcomes Kevin Rodger as Group Director of Education and Children's Services for MacIntyre charity and Trust.
As part of his role at MacIntyre Group, Kevin will lead the organisation on behalf of MacIntyre Academies Trust Board, providing oversight to the Principals of the academies and strategic direction.
We asked Kevin to introduce himself:
Can you tell us about your previous experience?
I have dedicated my career to making a difference to peoples’ lives and feel particularly passionate about helping young people reach they full potential.
Before joining MacIntyre, I worked for an independent training provider called PeoplePlus where I had responsibility for numerous contracts delivered on behalf of national and local government, including the provision of job finding support to the long term unemployed, rehabilitative services for offenders and the delivery of adult education to thousands of learners in prisons and the community.
Prior to that I was the Head of Skills at Suffolk County Council where I implemented a skills and employment strategy with the aim of inspiring young people to believe in their potential and make informed decisions about their future. One of my proudest career achievements is the design and setting up of the UK’s first dedicated Youth Job Centre, called MyGo, in partnership with Jobcentre Plus in Ipswich.
What drew me to the organisation was the passion of everyone I spoke to about the important work MacIntyre does and the people it supports. It was also clear that we shared similar values and a belief that every child should be able to live and learn in an ambitious, child centred and nurturing environment regardless of their background or circumstances.
I am delighted to have discovered MacIntyre and feel privileged to join your team.
What plans do you have in your new role?
The team has already achieved a huge amount, not least in responding so proactively to the pandemic. I’m keen to listen and learn as much as I can about what’s already working and what we could do differently and better for the young people we support.
My long-term aim is simple: to help colleagues and every young person we support reach their full potential. I hope to bring my experience of growth and business development to the table, alongside my determination, ambition and drive to deliver outstanding outcomes for the people we support.
